Chickasaw County

Chickasaw County Soccer Association:  $250

The Chickasaw County Soccer Association operates under the Mississippi Youth Soccer Association and consists of co-ed teams of youth aged 4 to 16 years.  The grant money will be used to provide scholarships for under-privileged children to give them a chance to learn and play soccer. Contact:  Carol Byrne--662-456-4573

Itawamba County

United Methodist Food Pantry-West:  $500

The United Methodist Food Pantry—West secures and distributes a box of food each month to the needy residents of Itawamba County who live on the Westside of the Tombigbee Waterway.  They also are available during the month for emergency situations.  They are experiencing a large increase in the number of households and people that are served each month.  Every grant dollar they receive is spent on food.

Lafayette County and All CREATE Counties

North Mississippi Regional Center:  $300

Celebrating its 36th anniversary in 2009, the North Mississippi Regional Center operates under authority of the State Department of Mental Health to provide an array of services to citizens with intellectual and related developmental disabilities in the northern 23 counties of the state.  They offer diagnostic and evaluation services, training, rehabilitation, residential care, and research into the causes and treatment of intellectual disabilities. Lee County

El Centro: $400

El Centro helps Hispanics in North Mississippi integrate into the local community  by providing services such as adult English classes, after-school programs, and workshops on a variety of topics relevant to the Hispanic community.  In addition, their Resource Center helps Hispanics find the social services they need.

Pontotoc County


Pontotoc County

Pontotoc County Bible Teachers’ Fund:  $300

This fund pays the salaries of approximately five (5) teachers in Pontotoc County (North, South, and Pontotoc City) who teach Bible classes in elementary, middle, and high schools.  The teachers are entirely dependent on the fund for their salaries.

Union County Good Samaritan Food Pantry:  $500

The Union County Good Samaritan Food Pantry secures and distributes a box of food each month to the needy residents of Union County.  They are experiencing a large increase in the number of households and people that are served each month due to the economy.  Every grant dollar received is spent on food.
